Each cemetery has different rules, so it is also important to ask if they will allow the monument company to fax or mail the three copies of the design to them or do they prefer the customer to do so. You will receive three copies one for the cemetery, monument company and customer. When the cemetery director approves the design they will send a copy to each of us.

We also design pet monuments, veteran memorial monuments and engrave boulders for companies and residence.

3: If the foundation is not in when the monument is completed and shipped to RI, what happens from there?

We always try our best to make sure the foundation is in before the monument reaches RI. If that is not the case, the monument stays at our distributor until the foundation is in.

5: When I receive a price quote does that include the tax?

No, it does not include the tax.

6: What does the price quote include?

The price quote will include the custom design, family name, the deceases information (deceases name, date of birth and date of death). The price will also determine on what type of information you want on the stone. Do you prefer the year born and year of death, or month, day and year of the birth and the death. The size of the stone that the cemetery provides you will also determine this information. It is very important that you call the cemetery first before you start looking for prices.

7: There are so many choices to choose from, how do I go about making this a little more easier?

If this is a monument that you are purchasing for a loved one, friend or relative, talk it over with some of their closes relatives, friends that knew the deceased. Ask questions like: What were her or his likes and dislikes?
What kind of flowers did she or he like?
What were their hobbies?
What is their religion?
Did she or he like crosses, praying hands, angels, and or a certain religious statue?

Take a walk in a cemetery and look at the different styles that you may like. Guiot Monument designs you a monument to your specs. If you see a design that you like take a photo of that stone. If you don’t like a certain flower, cross, (etc.) we can change that design and put another type of flower, or cross (etc.) You design your own monument. If you can give me just a little bit of information I can design you one or three designs that you can pick from.

8: What is the process and shipping time frame?

Once the contract is signed and we receive half down, we then order your monument. Next, I will be sending you three copies of the drawing for you to send to the cemetery. Most of the cemeteries request a foundation order by the customer. The cemetery will contact the customer for the fee of the foundation. The monument company does not put the foundation in the cemetery does. There will be a final drawing sent to you in about two weeks. You must check for any mistakes with the spelling and the dates. If there are no mistakes you must sign and date the final drawing and mail it back to me with the final payment. If there is a mistake fix that mistake on the drawing and send it back to me.
It will take about 4 to 6 months.

9: If I am only in need of engraving at an existing monument. What information will I need to give you?

You will need to call the cemetery to find out the location of the site. I will also need to know the section number or letter and the lot number. Is the person’s name, and date of birth already on the monument? If you are able to give us a location where the site is located this would help up also. The better way you can give us directions is to return to the site. Some Cemeteries have two entrances. Let us know which one is the best entrance to take. Think of questions to ask yourself if you were trying to find a location. What side is the row on? Is it on your left or right hand side? How many rows is it to your site?

What is the name on the first stone that is in that row and write it down? Then count how many stones it is from the first monument to your lot. If you are from out of town and are unable to return to that site, but you can direct me to the location then sometimes that works out for both of us.

I will need that persons address and phone number for billing purposes after the engraving is complete.
